Is
there a MagEyes
retailer in my area? |
MagEyes
retailers are located throughout the United States and elsewhere.

Are
you over 40, wear bifocals or reader glasses? |
Most
people fall into this catagory. We generally recommend the Double
Lo (1.6x & 2.0x lenses) MagEyes. These two powers offered with
this unit give the best working distance for craft, hobby, painting,
etc. Most people with typical "aging of the eyes" can use
these two powers for many years. |
Do
you need the MagEyes magnifiers for craft or hobby work? |
|
Do
you have a special eye condition, such as Macular Degeneration? |
Usually
we suggest the use of the Double Hi (2.25x & 2.75x lenses) MagEyes. This
unit offers the greatest magnification for the tiny, delicate, and
intricate work some professionals deal with on a daily basis. If you
are a Macular Degeneration patient, the Double Hi MagEyes generally
will offer enough magnification for awhile. |
Do
you need magnification for highly detailed work, such as circuit board
assembly or inspection, miniatures in the hobby world, or specialized
medical (hair transplants, dental, asthetics)? |
Usually
we suggest the use of the Double Hi (2.25x & 2.75x lenses) MagEyes. This
unit offers the greatest magnification for the tiny, delicate, and
intricate work some professionals deal with on a daily basis. If you
are a Macular Degeneration patient, the Double Hi MagEyes generally
will offer enough magnification for awhile. |
|
I
know most people can rely on the Double Lo MagEyes for most general
tasks, but what if I just need some extra magnification on a limited
basis. |
We
then suggest the Double Lo MagEyes, again; but then just get the one
2.75x higher power lens for the very special tasks you may do on a
limited basis. |

I
have had my MagEyes a couple of years now, they still work great and
I take them everywhere. I have one problem, though, they don't seem
to stay on my head as securely as before. |
Sometimes
the MagEyes will loose a bit of the "memory" or tension
on the headband. Sometimes this is due to very long periods of use
or maybe the MagEyes travels with you in you car. Either case, simply
remove the lens, gently squeeze the headband together till the two
open ends overlap about an inch, wrap with a rubber band, place in
the freezer for about an hour, remove and let adjust to room temperature,
remove the rubber band when the unit reaches room temperature, replace
the lens and continue in your hobby, craft, work, or reading! |
|
The
headband fell out of the car and I drove over it and it broke. Do
I have to purchase a whole new set with additional lenses? |
We
offer replacement parts for the MagEyes. Call 1-800-210-6662 and tell
your story of which part you need to purchase. |
|
Is
there a correct way to wear the MagEyes? |
The
MagEyes were designed to be worn with the lens flat side to the face
and the lens bar (area where the lens sits) on the bottom. However,
we do have a lot of gentlemen who like the bar on the top (they just
turn the unit up side down) so they have unabstructed view thru the
bottom of the lens area. People who wear bifocals seem to be more
comfortable this way. |
|
What
is the difference between the MagEyes and regular reader
glasses? |
Readers
offer limited magnification. You receive one magnification with each
pair of glasses. You can not wear prescription glasses with the readers.
With MagEyes you are able to have the choice of wearing your prescription
glasses or not. With MagEyes you bring whatever you are working on
into your focal area with whatever lens you are using. With readers
you don't have the versitility of the changing distance from the lens. |
